Jonsie is making positive progress with his loose-leash walking. If we encounter another distraction, he needs to be constantly fed and distracted. If I am not fast enough to catch another dog, for example, or a squirrel, he will pull. So this is an area we will continue to work on. His sits, downs, and stands are lovely, and we just might need to repeat the word more than once for stand and down.

Jonsie is ultra-stimulated in Grocery Stores and cannot loose-leash walk around them just yet.
He has been on a few visits to an elderly gathering every Friday morning, to a few different schools, Youth Link, and to a Police officer’s briefing after attending a traumatic scene. He really was just what they needed, and in the schools, he already has the ability to remain calm in a down whilst surrounded by children touching him. He has the best zoomies ever, and we never quite know what sets one off, but all the same, they are hilarious.

Jonsie is very interested in our cats, especially the one who is not afraid of dogs and will allow Jonsie to sniff and paw her, but he is still learning that chasing is not allowed.

With October done, the good weather has allowed for some lovely walks and adventure walks. Definitely not ready for off-leash walks, as he is quite Mr. independent. Today, he dressed up and attended a support centre for Indigenous women and children. He was great and not bothered by the costume at all. Well done, Jonsie, every day is a new discovery with you.
