Hi, Everyone,
Whoosh, November really flew past! Is it me, or has time suddenly picked up speed? Maybe it’s just that the life of a PADS teenager is especially busy this time of year, and I lost track.
Big Business: Turns out November is for checking big things off the To-Do List. For me, that meant Adult GDBart Assessments and Vaccine Clinic. For my Raisers, that meant meeting deadlines. Of course, since they supported me through my stuff, I supported them through theirs. This required some super long settling at both Services Canada and BCAA during all the paper signing. Sweet Reward? The Office Folk admired my skills and said I made their day.
Special Event: Remembrance Day! This year, I represented PADS at the Chinatown Memorial Plaza Ceremony, where I met the most magnificent people – Mr Paul Lee (from the Chinatown Legion), The Pipers (who will perform in Edinburgh next year, wow), the Security Team (who admired my engagement), plus assorted dignitaries and scores of Eastside Residents. I did my very best to spread goodwill and received a whole lot in return. Thank you, New Friends!
Training Partners: The Brilliant Grade 8 Girls! What a smart, curious, calm, and affectionate crew – Future Puppy Raisers, everyone! I especially liked settling with them during their lunch break. We talked a bit about PADS training, and I gave a little recital of my skills. At the end, I bowed my best gratitude bow. Thank you, Kindred Spirits, for sharing your time and affection with me!
Special Shout-Out: To my Dear Friend at Home Depot on Terminal! He’s known me since baby puppy days, sees me at least twice a month, and always takes time to chat about my progress. This month, he turned on all the mechanical Christmas Toys for me so that I could practice not playing with them. After all, what are Friends for?
November Fitness: Well, turns out I’m a Polar Bear at heart. Give me a cold beach with stinky sand, an icy ocean, and weathered wood to haul, and I’m in my element.
Sweet Moment: Delivering a very special Birthday Card by mouth in my Little Blue Bag.
Thank you so much for checking in on me. With the Festive Season upon us, there will be tons to report next time! Until then, help a friend tackle their To-Do List.
