The Willow Park Litter turned 6 months old. Where did the last 16 weeks go? Poor Jonsie seems to have finally shaken off a persistent ear infection, poor guy.
He continues to loose-leash walk nicely, but not consistently. He requires constant food and redirection if we are having a rough walk. Jonsie likes to be busy, especially at puppy class. He is not the most patient listener and likes to get practicing right away. Last class was a hoot as we were all asked, “Can your dog jump into and out of a car and into a heel?” I raised my hand and said, “He half jumps, and I have to lift the back end.” Stephanie takes Jo, and first time, he jumped straight into the trunk and side door. Now I have realized this sneaky, smart guy has been 1 step ahead of me, thinking he can get away with it. So no more of that; however, it was funny.
We are practicing our sit durations and down durations, and have much work to do. He is a lovable big bear with almost too much enthusiasm. He knows many cues, but still has some to learn, and we have another year for that. Visits to hospitals, schools, VAST wellness day, Home Depot, he’s a rockstar, but Costco, he’s a Hoover. Cannot shop with him yet, just do training visits. Smart with a stubborn streak, I know I will learn so much from Jonsie and help him be successful. In return, I get the best snuggles, and I thought Tino was a loud snorer, but he would easily win a snore contest. Look forward to our first festive season and visiting and sharing puppy love and cheer.
