What a fun way to wrap up 2025! At the beginning of the month, Myra was wrapping up her puppy swap with an incredible raiser. Myra got to be a working girl for two weeks – going to an elementary school and learning the ropes of what an AFD job can look like. And she had a great time and was a hit with the students. She even had a portrait drawn of her by one appreciative student.
Once back with me, we carried on with training and outings – both specifically for training but also sometimes just for plain old fun, meeting up with friends and hitting the trails. We went to the Scotia Barn ice rink, out to a tack store in Langley, had a couple of lunch dates, came with me for a blood work appointment, and went to her first movie! While she enjoyed the nap time that Wicked 2 allowed, she did get a little bored by the end.
Christmas was extra special as Myra got to spend it with our previous co-raisers! A wonderful time to reconnect and show just how well she is coming along in her training – thanks to the hard work they put in through her first year, and giving her such a solid foundation.
