Rooty has had many experiences this month. Regular early morning walks, daily indoor-track cape walks. We’ve had a few 2 a.m. call-outs to plow snow, which he tolerates well. Lots of back and forth with sudden stops and turns. He sometimes watches what’s going on, but is able to rest for hours at a time, putting in our short shifts. My dogs get out and about quite a bit, but also need settle time as I work on various projects.

Rooty often goes on hikes with other PADS dogs and raisers. He adapts well to being handled by different raisers, which is such a plus. Rooty loves his playtime in the backyard. He is quite capable of amusing himself running and jumping around with a toy, lying to chew a Kong, or just sitting and watching the world. Of course, we also have regular A&W visits for a beverage and a bite. Rooty is a special “one.”
