Howdy! It’s Stetson.
Today, I’m four months old and 32 lbs. of pawsome. I grew out of my old kennel and was a big help putting the bigger one together, as you can see in the photo that follows. This month, my raisers gave me a doggy do list: eat, drink, play, train, nap, repeat. Fur real, going to Puppy Bootcamp this month gave me puppy powers. I know how to sit, lie down, wait in my bed for my meals, go into the kennel when asked, get in and out of the car (mostly by myself), and relax in my bed next to my raisers.
I thought PADS puppies were the only ones that wore yellow capes until one day, I met the mailman coming up the walk wearing a yellow vest. We greeted each other, and then both of us got back to business. I was practicing my lessons, and he went up the street delivering mail. My raiser asked me to lie down, and just then, the mailman was coming back our way. I didn’t move a muscle. Instead, we just looked at each other as he passed by me, nodding his head and smiling as if to say, “Good job, Stetson, I’m proud of you!”
I’ve been getting used to the sights and sounds all around me. Yesterday, I watched a noisy city utility truck from across the street. I was very curious, but the sound didn’t scare me. I watched humans wearing long sticks on their feet and in their hands, swooshing past me through the snow, cross-country skiing. And now that it has been a bit warmer (thank goodness for Chinooks and warm puppies), our friends Maggie the magpie with her loud squawking, Chipper the chipmunk with his chirping, and Mr. Nut the squirrel with his high-pitch screech, come for their daily peanuts. Although I’m only allowed to watch and listen through the patio window, I’m a very good watchdog.
When I saw the vet this month, she gave me my final shots. This means I can play outside more and my raisers can worry less. We are planning an outing to a private dog park for my first time off-leash. I’m going to have a tail-wagging good time. Next month, I plan to meet some doggy pals and their people for some training. I’ll tell you all about it next month.
Till then, Peace, Love, Dogs!
