Pandora has had an eventful couple of months. She experienced several transitions with sitters and has now settled well into her new raiser home. Around the time we met her, she entered her first heat cycle, which meant she was navigating both a move and significant internal changes at the same time—a lot for any young dog.
We’ve had Pandora for just over a month and have really enjoyed getting to know her. Her house manners are impeccable, and at home she is affectionate, playful, and relaxed. Building trust and rapport took a little time, but we now feel well-connected and attuned to each other.
Pandora has returned to a university classroom—this time on the instructional side rather than the student side—and she has been excellent in public settings. She settles easily, maintains focus, and handles busy environments with confidence and composure.
She is gaining confidence off-leash on neighbourhood trails, and we are currently working on reliably disengaging from sticks and other tempting objects. At home, she is very observant and will alert us to unfamiliar sounds or activity at the door. We’re focusing on helping her learn that these cues are not something she needs to worry about and that calm observation is sufficient.
Overall, Pandora is a very special dog with a thoughtful, intelligent nature, excellent public behaviour, and a lot of personality—including truly epic sploots and a charming little lip twitch when she’s expecting a cookie. We’re very much looking forward to continuing to work together over the coming months.
