Hi everyone, Stetson here!
February was great for friends, fun and freedom. This month, I had my first off-leash adventure at a private dog park. Two whole acres to explore and run with the wind in my fur. Each time I checked in with my raisers, I got a treat and was praised for being a good boy.
I met Marcel, a French bulldog, when he came to stay at my house for a week. At first, I didn’t know what to think of him. He sure didn’t look like me with his big grin and ears that stood up on top of his head. He was much smaller, too. My raisers reminded me to be gentle with him, and we did become friends. I liked sharing my toys with Marcel, even though sometimes he didn’t want to play with me.
During the last part of the month, I have been practicing my skills in public spaces. We go somewhere new almost every day. I am learning not to be distracted by other people and noises and focus more on my lessons and handler. My raisers and I walk through the mall, and then I practice lying quietly at their feet while they have a coffee and visit.
Next month I will be going to my raisers work a few times and will be having a sleepover at one of the PADS sitter’s homes. She is so nice! I’ll tell you all about it in my next Pupdate.
