Meet PANDORA

What’s wonderful about PANDORA

Pandora is a bright, affectionate, and deeply devoted companion who thrives on connection with her people. She is a quick learner with a thoughtful, eager-to-please nature, picking up new skills with ease and enthusiasm. In the home, she settles beautifully! She is house trained, has lovely manners, and enjoys her downtime just as much as her daily walks. Pandora especially loves getting out for strolls and time outdoors, taking in the world at her own pace, but she’s just as happy heading home to relax afterward. She has a gentle, intuitive side, often choosing closeness and quiet companionship, happily curling up beside her person at the end of the day. She travels well, handles grooming routines with ease, and brings a calm, steady presence to daily life, making her a truly special dog to share a home with.

WHERE PANDORA NEEDS EXTRA SUPPORT

Pandora will do best in a home that can offer her consistency, patience, and a steady routine as she continues to grow in confidence. She can be sensitive to new or busy environments and may become a little overwhelmed, especially when there are unfamiliar sounds or lots of activity around her. While she enjoys her walks and being outside, she isn’t a high-adventure dog and would prefer shorter outings over long, demanding hikes. At times, she may use her voice to alert to noises or struggle to stay focused when there are exciting distractions, and she is still learning how to navigate greetings calmly with new people. Pandora also appreciates having her boundaries respected; she may pull away from touch when she’s not in the mood and prefers a gentle, understanding approach. With the right support and a calm, predictable environment, she has all the makings of an incredibly loyal and loving lifelong companion.

Medical Note
Pandora has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia in her right hip, though she is currently not showing any symptoms and moves comfortably in her day-to-day life. As with many dogs, it’s difficult to predict how this may progress over time. She may continue to remain symptom-free, or she may develop some discomfort as she ages. Her future family should be prepared to monitor her mobility and support her as needed, whether that’s through maintaining a healthy lifestyle, thoughtful exercise, or guidance from a veterinarian.

Home Requirements

Someone must be home the majority of the day. As with all PADS dogs that have spent their lives in the full-time company of their raisers, the living situation must accommodate not leaving Pandora alone at home for more than 4 hours/day.

A stable home environment is required. This includes regular exercise, grooming, veterinarian care, food, as well as other necessary supplies and equipment.

Released PADS dogs do not have public access, meaning they are not allowed to enter malls, restaurants, hotels, or shops that are not pet friendly. They are only permitted to go to public locations that are pet dog friendly. Before releasing a dog from our program, PADS evaluates each dog for other working careers. Pandora is not eligible for any other working career. Therefore, one of the conditions of adoption is that she may not be used by other agencies for other working roles (some exceptions may apply depending on the reasons of release, such as volunteering as a pet visitation dog).
