Major here reporting from the sitter’s house. The first surprise for me was finding that I wasn’t the only dog in the house. Sounds fun – right – but that meant more rules and more challenges! Yes, we had fun running around the garden and playing chase. Training sessions meant that I had to stay on my mat and watch the other dog practice cues, and then he had to lie on his mat and watch me. Sometimes we both really wanted that kibble. Then we took turns going out. I stayed home, and the other dog went out, then vice versa, so I quickly got used to seeing them leave and knew that I had to nap or wait patiently. Outings took me to grocery stores, hospice, IKEA, granny’s assisted living facility, the library, the mall, Krause Berry Farm and lots of neighbourhood walks. We even had an off-leash run on the dyke. House rules included absolutely no nonsense, and I was on my best behaviour, most of the time, but I have to admit I really loved snuggling up with my buddy Marsh.
