Gaffer had a quick trip to the vet that turned out to be nothing. He had his GD Bart test and passed with flying colours. He went for his eye exam, and we are happy to report that he does not need glasses. He has been doing fantastically at the elementary school where we volunteer with Project Literacy. We did a class visit, and the kids came up about 5 at a time, and he held his composure, staying in a down all the time the kids were around. Also at the school, he managed to pretty much hold a sit in the halls, while the kids walked past him and came over to pet him. After they all asked if it was ok of course. We trained the kids as well as the dog. His favourite student came back after school to say goodbye to him, as this will be the last class this year for us. Kind of sad for all 3 of us. He went from almost no literacy to moving up to a grade 4 level. The boy, not the dog.

For training last month, he has been working on waiting for the cue to go through a doorway, and he is doing quite well.
