Happy 1st Birthday to Ranger! Ranger celebrated his birthday on February 25th with a brief Zoom party during the regular weekly virtual dog training class. He was so excited to hear everyone singing for him, and enjoyed his presents and special birthday treats.
Ranger has gotten bigger and has now graduated to adult dog food, but definitely still has puppy energy. He enjoys his walks, running around the backyard, playing in snow and meeting new dog friends.
This month we have been practicing the training technique of free-shaping for introducing new skills. Ranger has been excellent at practicing his perch and loose-leash walking.
He continues to work on controlling his excitement when greeting new people and dogs. Ranger is naturally focused and attentive when the young children he lives with get emotional. He continues to be very receptive of hugs and cuddles.
