PADS dogs are raised and trained on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded lands of the Skwxwรบ7mesh (Squamish), Sษ™lฬ“รญlwษ™taส” (Tsleil-Waututh), xสทmษ™ฮธkสทษ™yฬ“ษ™m (Musqueam), Ktunaxa ษamakษis (Ktunaxa), ฤจyรฃฤงรฉ Nakรณn mฤ…kรณce (Stoney), Niitsรญtpiis-stahkoii แ–นแŸแ’งแงแจแ‘ฏแง แ“ดแฆแ–พแŸ (Blackfoot / Niitsรญtapi แ–นแŸแ’งแงแ’ฃแ‘ฏ), Tsuutโ€™ina & Michif Piyii (Mรฉtis) Nations, and the Syilx Okanagan People.

We acknowledge the importance of these lands and their history. We do this to reaffirm our commitment and responsibility in improving relationships between nations and to improving our own understanding of local Indigenous peoples and their cultures.

We breed, raise and train fully certified assistance dogs. Our service (mobility & PTSD) and hearing dogs provide life-changing independence to those with disabilities. Our accredited facility dogs work with community professionals, such as teachers, RCMP and psychologists to help support healthy communities.

PADS is a fully accredited member of Assistance Dogs International.

Losing her hearing later in life was a deeply personal journey for Sarah-Kate, one marked by feelings of shame and the heavy weight of dependence. She often felt like a burden. That is, until PADS Tahsis bounded into her life and changed everything. Summer Safety Tips - Keep it Cool ๐Ÿ˜Ž With summer well and truly here, we're all thinking of ways to beat the heat. Here's some tips to help keep your dogs cool: โ˜€๏ธ Restrict exercise to early mornings or later evenings when temperatures are cooler. ๐ŸŒŠ Take your pup for a dip at the beach, or consider a small kids pool for them to paddle in. If your dog is swimming, try to ensure they're not ingesting the water! ๐Ÿ’ง Ensure your dogs always have access to cool drinking water. Adding ice cubes can also be a great way to cool down and offer some enrichment! โ›ฑ๏ธ We know a lot of dogs who love to sunbathe, but make sure to always offer shaded areas for them to relax in. Weโ€™re so proud of the amazing Alma, who is providing comfort to communities in Cranbrook. Almaโ€™s handler reports that she is thriving in her role as a justice Accredited Facility Dog. Sheโ€™s always eager to visit clients, and offers a grounding, calm presence to those navigating the justice system. The best part of Almaโ€™s day comes when she gets visit with victims, lay at their feet, and rest her head or paw on a their shoe.
