ABOUT PADS

PADS dogs are raised and trained on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded lands of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Səl̓ílwətaʔ (Tsleil-Waututh), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Ktunaxa ɁamakɁis (Ktunaxa), Ĩyãħé Nakón mąkóce (Stoney), Niitsítpiis-stahkoii ᖹᐟᒧᐧᐨᑯᐧ ᓴᐦᖾᐟ (Blackfoot / Niitsítapi ᖹᐟᒧᐧᒣᑯ), Tsuut’ina & Michif Piyii (Métis) Nations, and the Syilx Okanagan People.

We acknowledge the importance of these lands and their history. We do this to reaffirm our commitment and responsibility in improving relationships between nations and to improving our own understanding of local Indigenous peoples and their cultures.

We breed, raise and train fully certified assistance dogs. Our service (mobility & PTSD) and hearing dogs provide life-changing independence to those with disabilities. Our accredited facility dogs work with community professionals, such as teachers, RCMP and psychologists to help support healthy communities.

PADS is a fully accredited member of Assistance Dogs International.

June 27 is National PTSD Awareness Day. Living with PTSD comes with many challenges, and today is a reminder to show compassion to those who may be struggling, and raise awareness on how we all can work towards breaking the stigma.

We’re proud to support the healing of first responders and veterans living with PTSD through our PTSD Dog Program 🐶

Incredible dogs like Vader are trained to work with their partner to interrupt physical symptoms of stress, and to provide a calm, grounding presence in overwhelming environments.

You can help us raise and train more life-changing PTSD dogs! Give a gift today through the link in our bio, and help inspire hope for a future full of possibilities☀️

Every day is ‘Take your dog to work day’ for Team Asti 🍎🐶

What began as a puppy-raising partnership blossomed into a wonderful working team for Vivianne and PADS Asti. When Asti decided she would be best suited for a career as an Accredited Facility Dog, Vivianne knew that the students at F.E. Osbourne School would thrive with Asti as part of the team. “Over the past 6 years that I have been a PADS volunteer, I have noticed what an incredible difference these dogs make in a school environment,” says Vivianne. “Asti’s sweet nature and her calm presence provides unconditional and nonjudgemental support for students feeling anxious or stressed.”

Congratulations, Team Asti, on your incredible impact! Read more about their journey through the link in our bio 🔗
