This month Lady II has been focusing on perfecting her foundations for the skills she will be learning. Her retrieve is coming along nicely, and we have recently introduced a “tug” on cue to open a door. She genuinely enjoys working and is always up for any new task. Lady struggles a bit with being able to settle and relax – especially out in public. We have been working hard on shaping a nice default chin target to the floor to help her feel relaxed. On her days off, Lady enjoys walking in the river valley and playing with her dog friends.
- Skills being learned: Retrieving, opening/closing doors, go-ins on food, settling
- Recent field trips: Lowes, Costco, Superstore, University of Alberta, West Edmonton Mall
- Possible behaviour challenges: Will sometimes try to steal food if left unattended
- Advanced training location: Calgary
Thank you again for all your support of Advanced Dog Lady II!
