Meet Abba

What’s wonderful about Abba

Abba is a gentle, affectionate 3-month-old pup with a soft heart and an easygoing energy that makes her a lovely companion for both quiet evenings and everyday adventures. She is a sweet, cuddly pup who thrives on connection and enjoys spending time close to her people. Abba has lived happily with other dogs and shows playful curiosity and warmth in her interactions. She is house trained, food-motivated, and already beginning to learn the rhythms of daily life — from loose leash walks to settling into her kennel at night. With her tender nature and eagerness to learn, Abba brings a calm, loving presence into the home and is simply happiest when she feels included in family life.

WHERE ABBA NEEDS EXTRA SUPPORT

As Abba grows, she will benefit from a patient and understanding home that can support her unique needs. A BAER test has identified that she is partially deaf, which means she relies more on visual cues and higher-pitched sounds to navigate the world. She is still building confidence with grooming routines and being left alone, and she has not yet had exposure to children, busy environments, and off-leash spaces. With gentle guidance, consistent routines, and the support of recommended trainers who specialize in training deaf dogs, Abba has every opportunity to flourish. She will do best in a caring, attentive household ready to celebrate her progress and help her feel safe, understood, and deeply loved.

Home Requirements

Someone must be home the majority of the day. As with all PADS dogs that have spent their lives in the full-time company of their raisers, the living situation must accommodate not leaving Abba alone at home for more than 4 hours/day.

A stable home environment is required. This includes regular exercise, grooming, veterinarian care, food, as well as other necessary supplies and equipment.

Released PADS dogs do not have public access, meaning they are not allowed to enter malls, restaurants, hotels, or shops that are not pet friendly. They are only permitted to go to public locations that are pet dog friendly. Before releasing a dog from our program, PADS evaluates each dog for other working careers. Abba is not eligible for any other working career. Therefore, one of the conditions of adoption is that she may not be used by other agencies for other working roles (some exceptions may apply depending on the reasons of release, such as volunteering as a pet visitation dog).
