Meet Bryn II

What’s wonderful about Bryn II

Bryn II is a spirited, energetic, and endlessly entertaining young girl looking for a loving and active family who shares her zest for life. Whether she’s exploring local trails, learning new skills, or playing with her doggy friends, Bryn thrives when she can use her body and her brain. An active home with another dog and a securely fenced yard where she can run, play, and burn off energy would be ideal for this spunky pup.

Bryn generally has good leash manners but like many young dogs, she occasionally forgets her manners when something exciting catches her attention. While she may be petite, she’s surprising strong. Continued training and use of a harness will help keep walks relaxing.

Bryn is a social dog with a playful personality who loves sharing her toys with her human.  She will happily curl up at your feet and just when you think she’s fast asleep, you’ll discover she’s on her back, practicing all kinds of complex doggy yoga poses.

Bryn has had limited exposure to water sports but won’t hesitate to jump in when it’s play time with her friends. Her veterinarian has recommended swimming as a low impact way to strengthen her muscles and burn off some of her exercise energy.

Bryn settles well in her kennel but prefers for it to remain uncovered. Like many young dogs, she may chew soft bedding or blankets if left to her own devices. Tempting items should be kept out of reach. Not to worry, she’s perfectly happy to sleep on the plastic base.

WHERE BRYN II NEEDS EXTRA SUPPORT

Bryn is a bright, energetic young dog who will benefit from continued training and appropriate outlets for her energy and enthusiasm. She can become easily excited and may struggle to settle when there’s a lot going on around her.

Like many clever and food motivated dogs, Bryn has discovered that countertops, tables, and shelves often contain interesting treasures. She likes to counter surf and will help herself to socks, towels and other soft items when given the opportunity. Her future family will need to help her resist temptation by keeping tempting items out of reach and continuing reward-based training to help her make better life choices.

Bryn has not spent much time around children. While she generally remains engaged on her handler, sudden bursts of excitement, such a running, yelling, or active play and may lunge to try to join in on the fun. Due to her enthusiasm and high energy level, she would be best suited to a home with older children, teens, or adults who can help continue her training and reinforce good doggy manners.

Bryn has experienced recurring growing pains throughout adolescence. Although her veterinarian expects her to outgrow these episodes as she matures, she may occasionally require a few days of quiet activity, rest, and extra TLC when flare ups occur.

HOME REQUIREMENTS

Someone must be home for most of the day. As with all PADS dogs that have spent their lives in the full-time company of their raisers, the living situation must accommodate not leaving Bryn II alone at home for more than 4 hours/day.

A stable home environment is required. This includes regular exercise, grooming, veterinarian care, food, as well as other necessary supplies and equipment.

Released PADS dogs do not have public access, meaning they are not allowed to enter malls, restaurants, hotels, or shops that are not pet friendly. They are only permitted to go to public locations that are pet dog friendly. Before releasing a dog from our program, PADS evaluates each dog for other working careers. Bryn II is not eligible for any other working career. Therefore, one of the conditions of adoption is that she may not be used by other agencies for other working roles.
