Meet ELLI

What’s wonderful about ELLI

Elli is the kind of dog who brings a little spark of joy wherever she goes! She is bright, affectionate, and always ready to be part of the action. She’s a quick learner with a big love for treats, which makes her both fun and rewarding to work with, and she already has a solid foundation of cues under her belt (heel, side sit, down, and more). Elli is house trained, comfortable settling in her kennel, and travels nicely in the car, making her an easy companion for day-to-day life. She walks beautifully on leash, enjoys getting out and exploring, and has shown great recall on off-leash adventures. Socially, she’s friendly and playful with other dogs – she loves to play with her wolfhound bestie! Elli has been neutral around children. Elli takes most things in stride with a calm, easygoing presence. Above all, Elli is a cuddly, people-oriented girl who loves to be close to her humans and will happily curl up after a good day of activity!

WHERE ELLI NEEDS EXTRA SUPPORT

Elli is an intelligent dog who thrives when both her body and mind are kept engaged, so she’ll do best in an active home that can provide regular exercise and enrichment. One of her main areas for support is her tendency to pick up and eat rocks, which means she requires close supervision outdoors and is currently learning to wear a muzzle for her safety—she’s making good progress, but it’s still a work in progress. She has had 2 surgeries due to her rock eating, but has recovered beautifully and is doing well. Elli can also get a little wiggly and excited during grooming, though she remains cooperative with a bit of patience (and snacks!). With consistency, structure, and someone who enjoys continuing her training journey, Elli has all the potential to truly shine; she just needs a home that will match her enthusiasm and help guide her in the right direction!

Home Requirements

Someone must be home the majority of the day. As with all PADS dogs that have spent their lives in the full-time company of their raisers, the living situation must accommodate not leaving Elli alone at home for more than 4 hours/day.

A stable home environment is required. This includes regular exercise, grooming, veterinarian care, food, as well as other necessary supplies and equipment.

Released PADS dogs do not have public access, meaning they are not allowed to enter malls, restaurants, hotels, or shops that are not pet friendly. They are only permitted to go to public locations that are pet dog friendly. Before releasing a dog from our program, PADS evaluates each dog for other working careers. Elli is not eligible for any other working career. Therefore, one of the conditions of adoption is that she may not be used by other agencies for other working roles (some exceptions may apply depending on the reasons of release, such as volunteering as a pet visitation dog).
