Meet Tattor

What’s wonderful about TATTOR

Tattor is a fun-loving, playful girl looking for a loving and active family to share life’s adventures with. She does well with children of all ages and may, in fact, believe she’s a human. Whether it’s hiking local trails, camping, or enjoying long daily walks, Tattor thrives when she has plenty of opportunities to stay active and engaged. A securely fenced yard where she can run and play would be ideal for this lively girl.

Tattor is playful, smart, and eager to continue learning and growing. She will do best with a family willing to continue her training and committed to providing opportunities for enrichment.

At home, Tattor settles well in her kennel, rides nicely in the car, and enjoys being part of the family. Her ideal home will include a spot where she can lounge on her dog bed in the sun.

WHERE TATTOR NEEDS EXTRA SUPPORT

Tattor loves to run and play with her doggy friends. While her recall without other dogs around is generally good, she may struggle to respond quickly in the middle of play time.

She will navigate small creek crossings and puddles while hiking but if you’re looking for a swimming partner, Tattor prefers to play lifeguard and watch from the sidelines. She can become a bit mouthy when excited; offering a favourite toy or bone to hold can help redirect this energy. She will do best with a committed handler willing to continue working on her loose leash walking skills and provide plenty of opportunities for enrichment.

Tattor is being released from training because she’s experienced skin and ear infections, which we believe are allergy related. Both food and environmental allergies present with very similar symptoms in dogs, which makes it challenging to determine whether a dog has one, the other, or both.

To investigate, she’s been started on a hydrolyzed protein diet recommended by dermatologists for food allergy trials. She will need to remain with her puppy raisers until the trial is completed (~ November 24th) but we are hoping for a noticeable reduction in symptoms. Based on her response, we will be able to recommend either continuing the Hydrolyzed Soy diet or considering other protein options in the future.

For the family willing to embrace her playful personality, social nature, and ongoing allergy management needs, Tattor will reward them with endless affection, laughter and unforgettable adventures. She is a sweet dog with a loving heart who is ready to find her forever home with a family that who will help her thrive.

HOME REQUIREMENTS

Someone must be home for most of the day. As with all PADS dogs that have spent their lives in the full-time company of their raisers, the living situation must accommodate not leaving Tattor alone at home for more than 4 hours/day.

A stable home environment is required. This includes regular exercise, grooming, veterinarian care, food, as well as other necessary supplies and equipment.

Released PADS dogs do not have public access, meaning they are not allowed to enter malls, restaurants, hotels, or shops that are not pet friendly. They are only permitted to go to public locations that are pet dog friendly. Before releasing a dog from our program, PADS evaluates each dog for other working careers. Tattor is not eligible for any other working career. Therefore, one of the conditions of adoption is that he may not be used by other agencies for other working roles.
