Meet wrigley

What’s wonderful about wrigley

Wrigley is a very gentle, happy and loving boy! One of Wrigley’s favorite pastimes is playing tug with his toys and receiving lots of pets. Wrigley is up for any adventure and settles well in most environments. Trail walks, playing at the beach, and going for walks with both his handler and other dog friends are his kryptonite! He loves to meet new people and has excellent manners in doing so – he never jumps up or greets without permission. As much as he loves going on adventures, he is also happy to stay home during idle time on his own and in his kennel.

WHERE wrigley NEEDS EXTRA SUPPORT

Wrigley’s curiosity can get the better of him, causing him to become distracted by environmental elemental elements such as wildlife, passersby, and other dogs. When he gets sniffy, he can become quite the puller on his leash and would do best with a home that can manage this behavior. This gentle giant is a bit of a scaredy cat when it comes to heights and some flooring types, and he hesitates to jump down from things or walk over ‘strange’ flooring.

Wrigley has struggled with skin and ear issues and unfortunately, we believe it is due to environmental allergies with a possible food component. Wrigley will need care throughout his life to minimize allergy flare ups.Β  Currently, Wrigley is being managed on a hydrolyzed diet and medications.Β

Home Requirements

Someone must be home the majority of the day. As with all PADS dogs that have spent their lives in the full-time company of their raisers, the living situation must accommodate not leaving Wrigley alone at home for more than 4 hours/day.

A stable home environment is required. This includes regular exercise, grooming, veterinarian care, food, as well as other necessary supplies and equipment.

Released PADS dogs do not have public access, meaning they are not allowed to enter malls, restaurants, hotels, or shops that are not pet friendly. They are only permitted to go to public locations that are pet dog friendly. Before releasing a dog from our program, PADS evaluates each dog for other working careers. Wrigley is not eligible for any other working career. Therefore, one of the conditions of adoption is that he may not be used by other agencies for other working roles (some exceptions may apply depending on the reasons of release, such as volunteering as a pet visitation dog).
