ABOUT PADS

Pacific Assistance Dogs Society (PADS) breeds, raises and trains fully certified assistance dogs. Our service (mobility & PTSD) and hearing dogs provide life-changing independence to those with physical disabilities other than blindness. Our accredited facility dogs work with community professionals, such as teachers, RCMP and psychologists to help support healthy communities.

PADS is a fully accredited member of Assistance Dogs International.

We've often said "it takes a village to raise a pu We've often said "it takes a village to raise a puppy" but this has never been more true than during the pandemic. The support we receive often comes from the most unexpected places. 💙 Our friend Natasha recently entered her beautiful pup 🐶 @montyroads in #MuttMadness a social media contest with local dog photographer 📸 Keegan @floofystudios - promising if he won to donate the prize to PADS. When Monty missed the first place prize by a hair, both Natasha and Keegan went above and beyond and each donated 1/2 the first place prize so PADS still came out on top. You're all #1 in our books!! 💙 Our incredible friends at @bigdoglittledogbakery & @cactusclubcafe have stepped up yet again to fill our graduate gift boxes with special treats for dogs and humans alike - so our grads can celebrate their success in spite of this 💩 pandemic! � 💙 The fantastic administration and staff @maddaugh36 opened their doors and hearts for our team yesterday to shoot footage for our upcoming graduation and our friend Geoff @vancouverdogphotographer spent the whole day making us look fabulous. These are just a few of the many, MANY businesses, organizations and people that are finding creative meaningful ways to help PADS change lives. This team has recently passed team training and are on their way to building the foundations of their partnership. We hear often from our clients about how going thr We hear often from our clients about how going through life with a PADS dog is like being like being the dark sunglasses security detail for a rockstar everywhere you go - you just sort of disappear into the shadows. They also share how meaningful it is when someone takes the time to see them as more than "the human at the end of the leash" (or remembers their name instead of just the dog's). Our aging camera system is proving finicky and sadly can no longer be updated. These cameras are vital to allow us to keep our pups and people safe (and check on them remotely when off site or in another building).
