PADS x dinko

PADS is pleased to partner with dinko and artist Katika Marczell on a limited edition run of paddles, with a portion of proceeds from each paddle sold going to PADS.

Introducing: Dog Park

This paddle design, dog park, is a joyful tribute to the vibrant communities and deep friendships – between both people and pups – that blossom in dog parks. It’s a celebration of the bonds formed over shared moments of play, laughter, and companionship.

Featured is PADS Serrano, along with the beloved dogs of various pickleball club founders from across North America. Through this design, we celebrate all the dogs who’ve brought us together, and the communities that continue to grow around/with them – full of friendship, movement, and love.

About the artist

Katika Marczell (she/her) is a Canadian interdisciplinary artist and muralist. She completed her BA (honors) at the University of Toronto, and her MFA at York University. She has received grants from the Ontario Arts Council, the Canada Council for the Arts, as well as having been the recipient of a York Master’s Fellowship, and the prestigious Canada Graduate Scholarship – Master’s (SSHRC). She has facilitated a variety of community workshops around Toronto, and has taught at York University.

She believes important change, advocacy, and care happens within local communities. Continually exploring the ways we see communities in outdoor spaces and in ecology, her work actively makes public spaces more fun, welcoming, and silly. She is constantly looking for ways in which her work can help strengthen and support community building. She is inspired by personal stories, children’s books, local histories, ecology, and dogs.

Marczell has shown in Toronto, Milton, Montreal, at the Varley Art Gallery in Markham, and at the Art Gallery of Peterborough. She has worked with Art Moves, the Agnes Etherington Gallery, Bell Box Murals, Kensington BIA, West Queen West BIA, Street Art Toronto, The Personal Care Bank, Mural Routes, Arts Milton, as well as private clients. Her murals can be found in and around Toronto, Etobicoke, and Milton.
