ABOUT PADS

PADS dogs are raised and trained on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded lands of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Səl̓ílwətaʔ (Tsleil-Waututh), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Ktunaxa ɁamakɁis (Ktunaxa), Ĩyãħé Nakón mąkóce (Stoney), Niitsítpiis-stahkoii ᖹᐟᒧᐧᐨᑯᐧ ᓴᐦᖾᐟ (Blackfoot / Niitsítapi ᖹᐟᒧᐧᒣᑯ), Tsuut’ina & Michif Piyii (Métis) Nations, and the Syilx Okanagan People.

We acknowledge the importance of these lands and their history. We do this to reaffirm our commitment and responsibility in improving relationships between nations and to improving our own understanding of local Indigenous peoples and their cultures.

We breed, raise and train fully certified assistance dogs. Our service (mobility & PTSD) and hearing dogs provide life-changing independence to those with disabilities. Our accredited facility dogs work with community professionals, such as teachers, RCMP and psychologists to help support healthy communities.

PADS is a fully accredited member of Assistance Dogs International.

Mr Handsome, PADS Cleat, has mastered his downward dog and gotten himself a job as an Accredited Facility Dog 🧘‍♂️

After a successful breeding career (fathering 10 litters and 72 puppies), Cleat has turned his talents to a new career - working with his raiser Jane. Much to his students' delight, he continues to teach yoga in his role as 'Wellness Dog.' We're pleased to report that he's perfected Shavasana, and he never fails to make his senior friends smile 🐶

Congratulations, Team Cleat, on your new career 💙

New puppy alert 🚨🚨

We're pleased to introduce you to PADS Elli and PADS Dot II, two of our newest and tiniest service-dogs-in-training from our friends at @bcandalbertaguidedogs. These future heroes donned their yellow vests, met their raisers, and are on their way to becoming life-changing assistance dogs.

Team Camilo is making a splash on Vancouver Island 🌊

PADS Camilo has been spreading his ‘Milo’ magic as part of the Victim Services team in Port Alberni, Tofino, and Ucluelet. His partner reports that he steals the show at community presentations, and his ability to attune his demeanour based on each situation he faces is astounding. His supportive nature has impacted so many, and we’re incredibly proud.

What a shred-tacular turn out! In spite of the rain, our Burnaby Shred event last weekend was a total success. Together we shredded a whopping 4,390 kilograms of paper and raised an incredible $7,000! ♻️📄
