ABOUT PADS

PADS dogs are raised and trained on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded lands of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Səl̓ílwətaʔ (Tsleil-Waututh), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Ktunaxa ɁamakɁis (Ktunaxa), Ĩyãħé Nakón mąkóce (Stoney), Niitsítpiis-stahkoii ᖹᐟᒧᐧᐨᑯᐧ ᓴᐦᖾᐟ (Blackfoot / Niitsítapi ᖹᐟᒧᐧᒣᑯ), Tsuut’ina & Michif Piyii (Métis) Nations, and the Syilx Okanagan People.

We acknowledge the importance of these lands and their history. We do this to reaffirm our commitment and responsibility in improving relationships between nations and to improving our own understanding of local Indigenous peoples and their cultures.

We breed, raise and train fully certified assistance dogs. Our service (mobility & PTSD) and hearing dogs provide life-changing independence to those with disabilities. Our accredited facility dogs work with community professionals, such as teachers, RCMP and psychologists to help support healthy communities.

PADS is a fully accredited member of Assistance Dogs International.

We'd like to extend a big thank you to everyone who supported our Strong Roots, Gentle Paws campaign.

We're awed to report that your generosity, with the support of Team Vader, helped to exceed our goal and raise $100,000 towards training and placing service dogs for people living with PTSD. Every single gift made to this campaign is life-changing, We couldn't be more grateful 💙💛

Summer Safety Tips - Tick Watch 🐜

While you’re on your summer camping and outdoor adventures, it's important to be on the look out for ticks! Ticks are often found in heavily wooded areas, and may carry diseases. We recommend checking your dog after they've played in long grass and forested places.

Be sure to check the following where ticks can be found hiding on your pup:
🐶 Around the eyes and ears
🐶 Under your dog’s collar
🐶 Around the tail
🐶 In between their toes
🐶 Between their back legs

Meet Team Compass. They've been partners since March 2023, when Compass bounded through Fern's front door and changed her life. "Compass is not just my service dog—she is my lifeline."

Recently, when Compass faced two unexpected surgeries, Fern accessed the PADS Emergency Vet Fund. This fund is available to PADS clients so that their canine lifelines can access the very best care, without the financial worry that can come with it.

We're happy to report that Compass is recovering well from her surgeries. And now, Fern's hoping to pay it forward to other clients who may face the stress of their best friend needing care. You can help by visiting the link in our bio and making a donation to the fund. Team Compass (and future PADS Service teams) will greatly appreciate it 💛💙

Losing her hearing later in life was a deeply personal journey for Sarah-Kate, one marked by feelings of shame and the heavy weight of dependence. She often felt like a burden. That is, until PADS Tahsis bounded into her life and changed everything.

Tahsis not only acts as Sarah-Kate’s ears, alerting her to sounds she’d otherwise miss; she also provides Sarah-Kate with life-changing independence. “With Tahsis, I no longer feel such a burden to those around me.”

We’re so happy to see that Team Tahsis thriving. Read the whole story through the link in our bio 🔗
