The Pacific Assistance Dogs Society (PADS) is changing lives, one dog at a time. We are dedicated to breeding, raising, training and placing assistance dogs for persons with a physical disability or who are deaf or hard-of-hearing, and to supporting these client and dog teams for the working life of the assistance dogs. PADS is based in the Metro Vancouver region of British Columbia, Canada. Our team of employees, Board members, and volunteers is passionate about giving persons a “new leash on life” with assistance dogs who will help to give clients greater independence and a better quality of life.
PADS is seeking an 8-week summer student (37.5 hrs/week) through the Canada Summer Jobs program for the role of IT & Systems Coordinator Intern.
The IT & Systems Coordinator Intern supports PADS technology needs related to various systems and technology. We have undertaken a 3 year project to implement Salesforce as our “one source of truth” and integrating all aspects of donor, volunteer, client and project management.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Help provide IT support for PADS’ 800+ volunteers and 35+ staff on our various digital platforms (online form submissions, WordPress portal, Google Classrooms) when they encounter issues or are learning how to navigate the system.
- Help maintain our data integrity as we migrate from various platforms (Monday.com/WordPress/eTapestry/Constant Contact) into Salesforce.
- Manage user creation and permissions management for all systems (onboarding/offboarding of staff, volunteers, etc.)
- Work collaboratively across all departments to assist in the development and build out of PADS technology systems (Forms, interactive platforms, etc.) and solutions.
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of all technology hardware for the PADS organization; including but not limited to laptops, printers, projection equipment, security systems, phones, digital locks, payment systems, etc.
- Assist with the planning, researching, and execution of recommendations for specified strategies and prepares reports to help evaluate effectiveness of strategy to ensure continuous improvement.
- Participates in meetings, brings forward topics for discussion, and provide recommendations for technology solutions to further departmental and organizational goals.
- Conducts measurement and evaluation of programs, systems and processes.
- Supports PADS technology for events and fundraising activations (I.e. payment systems, A/V, etc.)
- Other duties as required.
EXPERIENCE
- Education or relevant experience in a related discipline (software development or business administration)
- Have strong time management, planning and organizational skills.
- Articulate and receptive in communicating, both verbally and in writing.
- Be familiar with multiple technology platforms and a willingness to learn new software.
- Efficiently use of Macs, PCs, the Internet, MS Office and WordPress.
- Experience with Salesforce is an asset but not required.
- Manage tasks to achieve measurable outcomes.
COMPENSATION
This position pays $20.31/hr.
