Lisa and Erik's Story

When the Breeding Shed sprung a leak, volunteers Lisa and Erik stepped up. Read how their generosity is supporting future generations of PADS dogs.

Supportive Beginnings – Lisa and Erik

As a 100% donor-funded organization, PADS relies on the generosity of our community of supporters. Many of our volunteers don’t just give of their time, they also support us financially.

Two of our newest breeder-caretakers, Lisa B. and Erik K., are one example. Lisa and Erik asked us a few months ago if we had any pressing needs. Given their interest in our Medical & Breeding Program, we let them know about our need for a new storage shed. The old one on the Burnaby Campus had, unfortunately, developed a serious leak.

Lisa and Erik stepped up. With Doug Syms sourcing a new sea can, Lisa and Erik made the donation that enabled PADS to acquire the new shed, complete with insulation.

Thanks to their generosity, PADS now has a secure, dry space to house the equipment and materials essential to the Breeding Program. Their support – through both time and funds – means that future generations of PADS puppies will be able to thrive and go on to change the lives of clients.

Thank you to Lisa, Erik, and all our donors who make our work possible.

P.S. Our mission-related programs teams have recently compiled a “wish list” of enrichment toys, equipment and other needs. If you are interested in learning more, please contact us at donations@pads.ca.
