Our accredited facility dogs work with community professionals, such as teachers, RCMP and psychologists to help support wellness in our community.

OVERVIEW
The Manager, Okanagan, is responsible for growing PADS in the Okanagan and for providing support to Puppy Raising and other departments as needed. The Manager, Okanagan is an essential member of the Fundraising, Communications and Volunteer team, raising funds, recruiting volunteers, managing donor and volunteer relationships, and raising awareness of PADS in the Okanagan.
The Manager, Okanagan collaborates significantly with the Programs Departments – including Medical & Breeding, Puppy Raising, Advanced Training and Client Services. The successful candidate will have non-profit relationship building and management experience.

ABOUT THE POSITION
Fundraising
- Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward existing and new donors in the Okanagan region, in alignment with PADS’ overall fundraising strategy
- Organize donor stewardship events
- Engage Fundraising and Senior Leadership as needed in fundraising activities
- Identify and attend networking forums and events (e.g. Kelowna Chamber of Commerce)
Marketing & Communications
- Identify and generate Okanagan-based stories to raise awareness of PADS
- Working with the FCV team, identify and produce stories to recognize donors and volunteers in various communications
- Working with the Manager of Marketing and Communications, support social media content and community engagement for the Okanagan region as required, within PADS’ organization-wide social media presence
- Identify and attend speaking and/or media events to raise awareness of PADS, if the CEO or Senior Manager, Marketing & Communications are unavailable
- Report any issues and/or risks to PADS to the Senior Leadership Team
Volunteer Services
- Contribute to Volunteer Services strategy, engaging volunteers in the work of the organization and increasing capacity to further reach and deepen impact
- Plan and execute volunteer recruitment events in accordance with the overall strategy
- Answer queries from members of the public who are interested in volunteering (in person, by phone, or by email)
- Give presentations for organizations and businesses whose values align with PADS and whose members may be interested in volunteering
- Host regular volunteer info sessions for people who are considering applying
- Conduct home visits for applicants considering dog-handling roles and lead the team of volunteers engaged in this across Okanagan communities
- Re-deployment of volunteers who are returning after a break
- Assist in planning and execution of volunteer appreciation events for Okanagan volunteers
- Recognize volunteer contributions by thanking volunteers verbally, via email, and through other PADS initiatives
- Support volunteer incident reporting as required
- Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience & Behavioural Qualifications
- 3+ years managing volunteers
- Organized and adaptable
- Builds strong, collaborative relationships and prioritizes the needs of people in all day-to-day responsibilities
- Ability to travel occasionally to other PADS locations
Education & Technical Qualifications
- Post-secondary education including volunteer management, volunteer administration, or other related field
- Minimum of a Class 5 BC drivers’ license

- Attendance at meetings, organizational events, and public engagements as required
- Work may be performed in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings

Location: Okanagan, BC
Employment Type: Full-time
Work Arrangement: Based within the Okanagan region with a remote work-from-home arrangement.
Hours: Flexible, with weekends and evenings as required
Compensation:$65,000-$70,000 annually as a starting salary based on a 37.5-hour work week. A benefits package is available after the 3-month probation period.
