MEET TEAM TETRIS
AFD Tetris is the talk of the town in her new role with the CPS Victim Assistance Support Team. Read about her impact in the words of her handler, Constable Beckie Squires.
“Since joining the Calgary Police Service Victim Assistance Support Team in November 2025, Tetris has quickly become a source of hope and healing across the community. Her presence uplifts police officers, civilian members, and volunteers, while bringing comfort to those facing difficult moments. She also has brought so much happiness, joy, and passion into my life already.
At community events, Tetris has become the talk of the town. I frequently get approached asking “is that Tetris?” or “where is the new dog Tetris?”. In courtrooms, Judges and Crowns welcomed her with enthusiasm, recognizing the calm she brings. At the Luna Child Advocacy Centre and Alberta Health Services locations, Tetris displayed her gentle demeanor, offering reassurance to staff and clients alike.
Tetris has supported officers after traumatic events, helping restore strength and resilience. Tetris also made several visits to the Youthlink Interpretive Centre where she engaged with children and staff, spreading education and joy. When she is not working, Tetris enjoys spending time at home with her family, especially her dog sister Brady. Tetris is already making a profound difference, and her journey has only just begun. Thanks to the dedication of PADS trainers, puppy raisers, sitters, and sponsors, Tetris will no doubt make a difference in our community, and I am honoured to be her partner!”
