MEET TEAM Triton
Mobility service dog Triton’s goofy but patient personality is bringing joy and independence to his new partner.
“Since this is my first service dog, this has been an entirely new experience. I was beyond elated when I got the news I was being matched with Triton! I had no idea, at the time, how truly profound the positive impact would be on my life and on those who know me.
Everyone is so happy for me! I’m beyond happy. I’m impressed at his skills and patience. He brings me so much joy. He helps me be more independent.
I’m grateful everyday for the folks at PADS for all their hard work training him to do such complex tasks. One of the most impressive is how he helps me get him ready to go out. He can go get his leash and bring it to me. He can open and close my door. He can go get my shoes and helps me take them off. He can jump on his bench so I can dress him in his vest. While they did train him in these and many many more tasks, they couldn’t have trained his goofy personality.
I’m also grateful each and every morning when Triton gets silly, rolls around on his back, gently play-biting, and stretching. I didn’t teach him that, he does it every day without fail on his own! It’s such a great reminder to start every day with play and gratitude!”
