MEET OUR NEWEST PADS TEAM MEMBERS

We’re pleased to welcome Hannah Reed, Lucia Lyu, and Vicki Guzikowski to the PADS team.

Hannah Reed joins us as our new Calgary Puppy Program Trainer, where she’ll be managing the Calgary puppy cohort.  Hailing from the UK, Hannah holds a degree in Animal Behaviour and brings several years of experience working with assistance dog charities, most recently at Hounds for Heroes.

She is passionate about improving dog welfare through kind, rewards-based training, and helping dogs and people build strong, trusting relationships. Hannah is especially looking forward to learning from the incredible staff, volunteers, puppy raisers, and dogs at PADS as she begins this next chapter.

Lucia Lyu joins us as our newest Burnaby-based Apprentice Puppy Program Trainer. Lucia has been a PADS volunteer for the past four years, starting as an Advanced Dog Sitter and then a Kennel Volunteer.

Along with her PADS experience, Lucia brings a background in pet dog training, including puppy socialization group classes, co-operative care, and rescue dog rehabilitation. Holding a certificate in Non-Profit Management, she is also a huge learning enthusiast. She’s always eager to learn more about dogs, animal behaviour, and human education.

As for animal companions, Lucia currently lives with a rescue cat named Sherry who you may spot on screen during meetings, as she supervises Lucia while she works!

Vicki Guzikowski joins us as our Burnaby-based Adoptions and Fundraising Coordinator. Vicki brings extensive experience across the nonprofit, fundraising, and healthcare sectors, most recently supporting multi-stakeholder research and habitat restoration projects with MakeWay Charitable Society’s Resilient Waters project. She is deeply committed to relationship building and driving programs that create long term community and environmental impact.

A life-long dog lover and advocate for community engagement, Vicki is especially passionate about volunteer-driven initiatives. A certified streamkeeper, she serves as volunteer field research coordinator for the Burrard Inlet Marine Enhancement Society, where she leads the Road Salt and Salmon Success Project team and the Hakai Sentinels of Change larval crab study.

Vicki is excited to bring her passion, dedication and energy to the PADS’ Village and to support PADS’ mission of transforming lives through the power of assistance dogs.
