Possibilities Ahead with the OpenRoad Foundation

Since 2023, PADS has been fortunate to have the support of the OpenRoad Foundation. Read about how their latest gift is supporting the future of PADS puppies.

As a 100% donor funded organization, PADS relies on the generosity of our individual, corporate, and foundation partners to support our mission. We are so grateful to all of our partners.  

Since 2023, we have been fortunate to have the support of the OpenRoad Foundation. Recently, they awarded PADS a $25,000 grant to support our work, allowing us to purchase a new ultrasound machine for our Medical & Breeding Department.  

“Thanks to the OpenRoad Foundation, we will be replacing our 20-year old ultrasound machine with a modern piece of equipment designed for canine pregnancy detection,” says Kaylie Foster, Senior Manager, Medical & Breeding. “This will be incredibly helpful as we continue to plan our puppy production to align to PADS’ growth plans and to meet the significant need of our clients and applicants.”   

With several litters planned for this fall, the new ultrasound machine will help our team prepare our breeder caretaker and puppy raising volunteers as they start the next PADS puppies on their journey to become certified service and assistance dogs.  

We are delighted to recognize the OpenRoad Foundation’s generosity with their first litter naming! They have chosen the theme “The OpenRoad Showroom Litter”. We’ll share the chosen names once the puppies are born, but there are some really great, first-time names we are excited about.
