We’re so proud of our newest Accredited Facility Dog, PADS Quinn and her handler! Here’s a little update on their life together:

“Quinn has been part of my life for just over a month now. As I was already trained as a secondary handler for Puma and an Advanced Sitter for PADS prior to becoming a primary handler with Quinn – I had the opportunity to advanced dog sit Quinn for a week prior to being matched with her. It wasn’t until Quinn returned to PADS while I went away for a week that I realized what an impact she had already made on both my work and home life. Once we were matched – I couldn’t wait to get her back!

In my line of work in policing, we, unfortunately, must deal with a lot of trauma, and Quinn gets to come to work with me every day and try to help alleviate some of the stress that this causes in so many of our employees’ lives. I have already started losing my own identity and am now affectionately referred to as “Quinn’s mom.” A simple walk to the water cooler now takes me quadruple the time, but it is well worth seeing all the smiles that Quinn brings to everyone’s faces.

Quinn is loving life in her new home with both her human and animal siblings (she is even enjoying playing with the cat!)

Everywhere I take Quinn, I hear how impressed people are with her behaviour; I remind them constantly that I cannot take credit for any of that. I am so thankful to the army of people who loved and trained her for the past two years. She has already made an incredible difference – thank you, PADS!”
