AFD Team Serrano are bringing light wherever they go on the Sunshine Coast! Here’s an update from Serrano’s handler Christine:
“Serrano joined Powell River Police Victim Services in October of last year. Although he has only been my partner for a short time, he has already made such an impact on the program. His piercing eyes and sweet demeanor makes for love at first sight for everyone he meets.
Powell River Police Victim Services works with all victims of crime and trauma, providing assistance, information and advocacy. Serrano immediately and eagerly filled his role as a Victim Service AFD. Shortly after his arrival, he worked with his very first client while the young victim bravely told their story to a police officer. Serrano patiently comforted the youth, and when they were through, the client told Serrano he was “magical.” It is already very evident that Serrano understands his assignment. Serrano is the perfect addition to the program, and I am very excited to see where we can go as a team from here.
