This month showed that Alpine is leaving the puppy phase and is starting to mature. She has calmed down and has an easier time focusing on the tasks at hand. In class, she worked hard on learning how to ‘wrap a cone,’ which she quickly grasped. It is so rewarding to see her put the pieces together. I have started asking her to hold a position for longer periods of time. Alpine has a habit of trying to anticipate what I am going to ask her to do. So, we have been working on that she understands what is being asked of her rather than just guessing.

The weather finally warmed up a bit in Calgary, meaning that I could introduce Alpine to the hose. To say she had a good time would be an understatement. There is nothing she loves more than carrying a toy around but the hose may be a close second.

It is hard to believe that I have been raising Alpine for close to 6 months. She has been an absolute pleasure to have, and I am excited to see what the next 6 months hold.
