Hi, my name is Bazinga! I had a big first week! I left my breeder-caretaker’s home and went to live with my puppy-raisers. Our focus this week has been bonding and getting to know my bladder, hehe. I have a shy bladder, so my raisers have been taking me in and out a lot to try to pee. Up and down lots of stairs or elevator rides. At first, they thought I was playing practical jokes by not going when we got there – Bazinga! 😉 But it turns out I have been a little poorly.
While we work as a team to figure out my bathroom habits, I have successfully gone on several surfaces. Not to brag, but do you know I have been on cement, in a parking lot, on the street, on leaves, on grass, on a boulder, and in a parkade?
Later in the week, I started to explore. Condo living has so much to see, smell, textures to walk on, and people passing, and traffic outside—many small positive exposures to lots of different things, with BIG naps in between. I went into my first doctor’s office, stood outside a Save-on-Foods, met our condo building’s janitor, stepped into the gym, and learned to ride in the car. On an unplanned stop, I even went into a Tim Hortons and was introduced to this thing called an ‘accessible bathroom’ and how to wait with my Hooman. She called me a STAR because I was so well-behaved!
I also went for a quick introduction to my other hooman’s workplace. There were lots of people there who were excited to see me, and I needed a nap between hellos, whew! We’ll go again this week to meet a few more, woulda been too much all at once. I’ve got a cool new place to nap though!
My learning excursion on Friday hit all the categories: altitude climb, new surface to walk on, new temperature, new sights, new sounds, and new people wearing different clothing… hint I’m told they’re called tuques and skis. We went up to Cypress’s Nordic area, and I walked in the snow!!!
It was super cool, hehe – BAZINGA!
Finally, on the one-weekavirsary with my puppy raisers, we went to the BC Distilled Festival. I got to meet lots of new people, and have baby puppy cuddles with Lydia and Annika from PADS. Then I snored the whole way home! Luv, Bazinga
