Blazer spent the beginning of June recovering from his neuter surgery, so it was a pretty quiet start to the month. To make his recovery a bit easier, I got him a new pirate chicken toy, which he enjoyed chewing on. By mid-month, he was back on his feet and ready for action, so the pirate chicken became his favourite new tug toy. He has been enjoying time in the backyard with me and the pirate chicken. When he’s ready for some tug, he runs to me with the pirate chicken in his mouth and gives me a bump. Pirate chicken has already had to have a few emergency stitches to repair various body parts that Blazer’s teeth have infiltrated, but he has been the best toy ever.
He was happy to return to puppy class and see all of his PADS friends, and was happy that he was able to return for the class field trip to Ikea. There were so many distractions that evening, and other than some irresistible cheddar cheese shreds on the floor under a table at the hot dog stand, he did very well. What dog could possibly resist cheese just lying there for the taking?
The rest of the month was spent doing the usual things and going to the usual places. Blazer and PADS Astro were able to meet up for a playdate, which is always a highlight for them.
