Blazer was very excited to be back to weekly in-person puppy classes. He knows where he is the moment we step out of the car, and he can’t wait to get inside and greet all of his friends! Because of this, he’s had quite a few lessons in staying calm. He hasn’t quite gotten the hang of it yet, but each week shows some improvement. A puppy class highlight was the birthday party for PADS Astro. Blazer loved the birthday cake and the little goodie bag full of delicious treats. He wasn’t so keen on the birthday hat, but he wore it for a few seconds so that Jamila could take a picture of him.

Calgary received its first big snow of the season this month, and Blazer was crazy excited by it. He ran, leapt and bound through it. It seemed like he didn’t even feel the cold. His excitement has not worn off yet, as every time he goes outside it’s like he’s seeing the snow for the first time!

His dog bed was getting a bit worn so we bought him a nice, cuddly new one this month. His first reaction to the new bed was to drag it around like a stuffed toy, but after a while, he discovered how cozy it was to snuggle down into it. He is very happy with it, especially with the colder temperatures settling in.

Blazer is a very smart puppy, and I found out just how smart this month. Whenever we have yogurt, I ask him if he wants some probiotics and let him lick the spoon or the empty container. One morning, while Blazer was sleeping in the next room, I was telling my husband that when Blazer came to live with us, he had a small bag of probiotic powder I sprinkled on his food. The next thing I knew, Blazer was standing beside me, presumably looking for a yogurt treat.

We went to a few places this month including the library, the grocery store, Canadian Tire, Cabela’s, Best Buy and Market Mall. While at the mall, Blazer was fascinated by the sound effects Santa’s elves were using to get the attention of the little children they were photographing with Santa. Every time they made a sound, he perked up and looked right at them. On the way home, we stopped at Starbucks for a human treat, and our lucky pup got to have a pup cup.
