We were away for the first couple of weeks of September, which gave Blazer the opportunity to stay with a sitter. He had a great time experiencing new things with a new person and adapted to the changes very well.

Blazer had a few outings with a couple of his PADS buddies this month to work on his neutrality around other dogs in public places. We went to the Calgary Farmers’ Market West and the Foothills Medical Centre. It was tough for him to lay under a table at the Farmers’ Market when two of his buds were right next to him, and he wasn’t allowed to play with them, but he did remarkably well. At the Foothills Medical Centre, Blazer was able to work on his heels and sides beside a wheelchair and showed off his skill at backing up. After working on some things inside, he was happy to finally get a bit of off-leash time with PADS Astro and Morley. There was much frolicking and many treats, and when he got home, much napping.

Blazer’s other outings included grocery stores and the library. He’s working on his excitement levels when greeting people when we’re out and about, which is challenging when you’re a friendly puppy who wants to meet everyone.
