Blue is continuing to make forward movement in both her challenges and learning new cues, as well as having a very active out-and-about life. Blue learns new cues very quickly.
Between PADS puppy classes, she was able to enjoy several off-leash outings with her PADS friends. Working on recall during these times is a WIP.
Blue is generally excellent at settling in various public situations. She has demonstrated this during two looooong, live theatre events, a 1 hr counselling session, the hairdressers, the dentist and coffee dates. She did not do so well at a class outing to Tim Hortons, where she assumed that the presence of other dogs meant play time.
Blue represented PADS at a local law office along with another PADS dog. She enjoyed the attention of the staff and demonstrated good public behaviour during the event.
The arrival of PADS Trooper, at 8 weeks old, for a long-term sit, was a bit of an eye opener for Blue. Sharing her raiser, her toys, her beds and appropriate tiny puppy play was a great learning experience.
A 4-day stay at Wickaninnish Inn introduced Blue to the longest stretch of beach she has seen to date. The staff purposefully ignored her, gave space when needed and asked lots of questions. Blue behaved impeccably at all times in the room, at multiple restaurant meals, and on the beach, even tho having to be on leash.
The challenge we are carefully working on is separation anxiety while being kenneled. She is now doing well, kenneled, and her raiser is in the house and out of sight. March will find us working on kenneling and her raiser leaving the house for very short periods of time.
And as always, we continue to work on dog distraction. :0)
