I was a busy, busy puppy in December!

I started the month doing a photoshoot collab (because I’m the cutest ever) with UBC’s volleyball teams! I wore a very comfy sweater and even borrowed a bow tie so I looked my very best.

Then I had not one but two trips to the mall! The first was my very first time in a mall, and I was a pro, human was so happy with my settling while she was at the register. We went to only two stores to keep it very easy for me. Since I did so well, the next time I went to the mall (a little later in the month), we spent a little longer and went with a friend, PADS Casper! We did some Christmas shopping and had a blast.

I went to the Make It Show to support some PADS friends, walked around a bit, and even got myself some bow ties for Christmas. I was the star of that show!!

There were two very big highlights this month, the first being going to my first movie (!!) and the second being the holiday puppy class. I didn’t sleep through the movie (Wicked: For Good), so I was quite tired afterwards, but I stayed settled even with a dog friend (again, Casper) in the theatre as well, go me! Holiday puppy class was also a blast, working on being handled by someone other than my raiser, duration in sit and down, and walking around objects (cones). I did awesome! Then I got to open a present from, you guessed it, Casper! (Secret Santa just happened to work that way).

Throughout the month, I worked very hard on a couple of my skills, the first being default leave it in a variety of situations: human throwing food on the floor, walking by food on the floor, and even leaving kibble alone when it’s on my paws (and one time on my nose)! We went on trail walks so I could practice my “puppy puppy” and “here” recalls in different environments. I have so much fun with this cue, so mainly I just have to work on waiting before sprinting to my human!

This was all only during half of the month (told you I was busy)! Human went away for the holidays, so I’ve been staying with sitters and showing off all the skills and manners I’ve learned. It’s my first super long sit, and I’ve adapted fast to different environments, even getting a chance to live with another dog (not Casper this time, crazy).

I’m very excited for what the new year holds and can’t wait to update you all!

Bonus Pupdate:

Bubba visited us for part of the Christmas holidays while his raiser took a well-deserved vacation with her family.

Bubba’s favourite activity was to tease the resident PADS-release dog, Marvel, but eventually they learned to relax around each other, much to Marvel’s relief.

On Christmas Eve, Bubba was very calm and quiet despite a busy house with lots of people and two other dogs. Maybe Bubba got the tooth fairy, and Santa mixed up, because he lost 5 teeth while visiting – all part of growing up!
