I started school this month, and I love it! My favourite part is all the treats I get, but I liked those big 4-legged furry creatures with people on their backs too. They wanted to sniff me, but I said no way, and mom walked me to the other side of the ring so I could watch them without getting overwhelmed. Mom said I did really good because I kept checking in with her. I didn’t tell her, but I just wanted to make sure she was okay.
The other thing I’m learning about is cats…did you know cats like to tease dogs?! Well, they do, and I’m supposed to be a good boy and not chase them. It’s hard, but I’m learning something called patience and impulse control, two qualities I’ll need when I’m a working dog. Mom is also teaching me that I can pick up my tug toy when I get excited instead of pestering Bowyer and bring it over to play. I think she calls that redirection, but I just think it’s fun.
Oh, and I almost forgot to tell you that my picture was on the front page of the 100 Mile Free Press! The photographer said I look like a very sweet and happy dog, and she’s right! Have a happy month everybody!
