Hi friends!
I have had an awesome December! It started not so awesome with the final exam season. I had to settle or play quietly in study rooms for soooooo many hours every day while my human prepped for her finals. It got super boring, but I tried my best to lift her spirits. But then my human wrote all her exams and all the attention was back on me, as it should be! We went on some nice, long bike rides in the trails so that I could get all my pent-up energy out. I got a nice bath too!
At the beginning of the month, I also got to join my Campus Canines friends for a collab with the UBC Volleyball teams. I got to meet lots of the players and got so much love from them! Then I posed nicely with them for some pictures.
Once we weren’t stuck in study rooms, I got to go out on outings with my puppy friends again! PADS Bubba and I went to a huge mall to do a bit of Christmas shopping and then watch Wicked For Good with a group of humans. I find movies pretty boring, but the people seemed to enjoy them!
I also got to go to a Christmas-themed puppy class with all my friends! We played some holiday training games, and I wore my festive Christmas pyjamas. We then had to pose for soooo many photos. Our humans just love us so much. Then, I got a present in our Secret Santa exchange! I got an awesome new red, green, and white rope toy from PADS Blanco.
I then went on another flight! My human and I are spending the holidays with her family, which has been super fun. I get to live with my poodle friend Koda! It didn’t take us long to be besties again. We love to play together and snuggle on his big bed. It’s a lot colder here than in Vancouver, so Koda and I have to bundle up to go on our walks. Luckily, my human has knit me an extensive winter wardrobe and packed my booties, so I don’t mind the cold. I’ve also enjoyed going skating with the people. I love to pick up snowballs and retrieve pucks for the hockey players.
I had a great Christmas! I got to open lots of presents. Ripping open wrapping paper is my absolute FAVOURITE game ever!! I got some nice toys, a new lick mat, a new collar, and some doggy ice creams. My human also had the audacity to gift me nail clippers and give me a Christmas paw-dicure! Rude right!? A bunch of people came over for Christmas, and I was such a good boy. I impressed my human with my gentleness around the young kids and my overall calm demeanour around so many visitors. On Boxing Day, when all the people had left, Koda and I had a long cuddle nap to decompress.
During December, I also posted an Advent calendar of good boy skills on my Instagram (@padscasper). Every day until Christmas, I posted a video showing one skill that I have learned as an assistance dog in training. I had a great time doing all of my skills for the camera, so in case you missed it, go check out my highlight story on insta!
