Hello everyone! I’m Chorcha. I’m currently just over 3 months old. I’ve been through a lot so far in my little life. I lived with a puppy sitter in Vancouver for a while after I left my momma and wonderful breeder caretakers, and then I flew to Calgary with my new friend Barbara, and Jen picked me up at the airport. I was supposed to just be staying with Jen and Dave for a little over a week, and then I was going to meet my official puppy raisers. There was a bit of a wrinkle in the plan, though, as I broke my leg playing with PADS Astro in the backyard. I have to wear a splint for 4 weeks. Don’t worry, I’m told I’m going to make a full recovery, and I can tell you that this splint thing doesn’t slow me down! Jen says the biggest challenge is keeping me calm. Astro and I can still play bitey face in our big dog bed. He’s very gentle with me. Sometimes I get a little too excited and need a time-out in my kennel.
This has put a bit of a wrench in my training, but Jen has been teaching me all the things I can do without walking. I know my name, it’s yer choice, calm cookie, and I’m a pro at “touch” and “chin”. I have body handling absolutely nailed – I slept through one of my weekly splint changes. I’ve been on a few outings. Jen has carried me around the Farmers’ market and grocery store, and I’ve been to her work. We have also gone out for coffee and for a pedicure. I was a very good girl.
Next time I write to you, I should be running around! Happy holidays to everyone!
