ABOUT PADS

PADS dogs are raised and trained on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded lands of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Səl̓ílwətaʔ (Tsleil-Waututh), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations.

We acknowledge the importance of these lands and their history. We do this to reaffirm our commitment and responsibility in improving relationships between nations and to improving our own understanding of local Indigenous peoples and their cultures.

We breed, raise and train fully certified assistance dogs. Our service (mobility & PTSD) and hearing dogs provide life-changing independence to those with disabilities. Our accredited facility dogs work with community professionals, such as teachers, RCMP and psychologists to help support healthy communities.

PADS is a fully accredited member of Assistance Dogs International.

Our Burnaby Campus was a hive of activity as the PADS Bee Litter met their Puppy-Raisers and short-term Puppy-Sitters earlier this month! 🐝

A super sweet thank you to Breeder Caretaker Sandra and mama Betty II for taking such great care of the Bee Litter these past 8 weeks! 💖

By the time a PADS puppy-in-training reaches 4 months old, they have been exposed to many people, dogs, and new situations inside and outside the home! 🐕✨

They are becoming more confident as they navigate the world around them. They listen to cues and develop skills of splitting their attention between puppy-raisers and their surroundings. 👀

During this time, puppy-raisers are working on building manners, focus, and the ability to respond to cues in distracting environments. 🌀🐾

By the time a puppy-in-training reaches 8 months old, the goal is that they can execute cues reliably in various settings and their raisers can easily regain their attention when they get distracted. Their manners inside and outside of the home have improved and they respond quickly to directions! 8️⃣🥇
