It is hard to believe that Dolce and I have been together for 11 months, and he is now 13 months old. He is maturing into a very handsome and lovely boy.
This month was a busy one. I took Dolce to the Burnaby Village Museum to enjoy the Christmas Lights. We also had a visit with my mother at her independent senior’s residence. Dolce put smiles on many faces. Dolce enjoyed spending Christmas with us. He was treated to a Christmas bandana and a new stuffed toy. Dolce can be a bit rough with soft items like his toys and dog beds. As part of his training, we are spending time teaching him to be gentle.
Dolce is a very smart and active boy who at times, has difficulty settling in one spot. As I am retired, Dolce spends some time with a PADS sitter at her work. Dolce is learning to be in a totally different environment, with many distractions, and this is especially helpful in teaching him to settle quietly. The sitter’s coworkers especially love it when Dolce visits them. When Dolce is not with the sitter, I take him to a public place, like a mall or library and continue to work on his settling.
Dolce spent some time off leash during the holiday, and after a run, and playing with other PADS dogs, Dolce comes home and falls asleep. Often, he is with me sitting on the floor, and him fast asleep and snoring between my legs. I wouldn’t have it any other way, as Dolce is a very sweet boy who loves his cuddle time.
