ABOUT PADS

PADS dogs are raised and trained on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded lands of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Səl̓ílwətaʔ (Tsleil-Waututh), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Ktunaxa ɁamakɁis (Ktunaxa), Ĩyãħé Nakón mąkóce (Stoney), Niitsítpiis-stahkoii ᖹᐟᒧᐧᐨᑯᐧ ᓴᐦᖾᐟ (Blackfoot / Niitsítapi ᖹᐟᒧᐧᒣᑯ), Tsuut’ina & Michif Piyii (Métis) Nations, and the Syilx Okanagan People.

We acknowledge the importance of these lands and their history. We do this to reaffirm our commitment and responsibility in improving relationships between nations and to improving our own understanding of local Indigenous peoples and their cultures.

We breed, raise and train fully certified assistance dogs. Our service (mobility & PTSD) and hearing dogs provide life-changing independence to those with disabilities. Our accredited facility dogs work with community professionals, such as teachers, RCMP and psychologists to help support healthy communities.

PADS is a fully accredited member of Assistance Dogs International.

🐶 Pupdate: Meet Bowden!

Bowden is one of our dogs in assistance dog training, where he's been described as 'the best boy,' 'an amazing student,' and 'a gem to train.' Whether he's working on skills at the Training Center or out and about on field trips, Bowden always brings focus and enthusiasm to his training. He loves a field trip (especially to the ice rink) and he's been working hard on all the specific skills he'll need as an assistance dog. He's also mastered the essential skill of 'puppy dog eyes.'

Today we'd like to introduce you to some very special members of the PADS village 🐶 Meet PADS Casper, Lumina, Ivy II, and Brava, our latest cohort of breeding graduates.

Each of these pups was carefully selected not only for their outstanding health and genetic profiles, but also for their wonderful personalities. These dogs play a vital role in shaping the future of our life-changing puppies by contributing valuable genetic diversity and desirable traits for service dogs.

PADS is proud to be a member of the ADI International Breeding Cooperative. Not only do dogs like Casper, Lumina, Ivy II, and Brava provide the adorable and healthy puppies that head into our programs, but they also support programs around the world.

Mama PADS Pear and @freedomservicedogs Gretsky are pleased to introduce the Fish Litter. Sisters Angel, Koi, Minnow, and Spring were named by the wonderful folks at Burquitlam Animal Hospital.
