Hi, Everyone!

They say March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. Well, that was April for me!

I hit a few rough patches early on (tummy trouble & growing pains, ouch), but (happy to report) things smoothed out nicely – just in time for the Easter Bunny!

So, feeling under the weather isn’t my favourite, but it’s not all bad. For starters, I got lots of extra cuddles, and that sure helps. Plus, sore tummies call for boiled rice, and rice is very entertaining because it sticks to your nose and whiskers. As for the growing pains (grrrr), I learned to settle with my ice pack (thank you, Side Roll!) In my chipper moments, I played brain games, and practiced the more serene PADS skills… and, then, as my wonkiness waned, I restored my alignment and agility with canine conditioning exercises. So, for us over here, Fitness Month was all about rest and rehab, taking time to smell the flowers, listening to my body and building back slowly. Very valuable PADS learning!

On a brighter note: I did make it to Southlands for my shift at National Pet Day – the perfect chance to practice my Greet, demo the Woof Sponge, meet tons of Magnificent Pets and take deep sniffs of manure (manure is a real joy sparker for me!) And my First Ever Easter was a blast! I carried my basket, hunted for giant eggs and perfected my ears-up Bunny Hop imitation. Also, I made it to most of my sessions with Special PADS Friend Benita, who lifted my spirits sky high! Plus, I did some easy, breezy rehab walking down at Spanish Banks. O, and when the sun came out last week, so did a kiddie pool! That sure got my agility going. And the Cherry On Top of April: my Beloved, Sponsor Lady Caroline came for a visit! Boy, she lites me up. I was so happy she came that I brought her all my favourite things one by one, including my Little Blue Shopping Bag. I don’t do that for just anyone!

Thanks so much for checking up on me! I’m back in Vest now, going on field trips, feeling my oats, but still trying to pace myself. I hope to visit the Barn soon with my Favourite Person, Susan. I can’t wait to meet her Therapy Horse Sprite and the whole Maynard Menagerie! I’ll tell you all about it next time. Until then, who lites you up? Well, don’t waste another minute – go visit!
