Hi, Everyone,
Well, my first ever June is now past, which means (counting on my toe beans, here) that we Dragons have a special milestone coming up (party hat emoji!) But I get ahead of myselfโฆ June was MAGNIFICENT!
The sweet thing about summer is the longer light in the sky. That makes for early morning jaunts and late evening strolls, and I just love these times. They set me up for the day ahead, then smooth off any rough edges before bedtime.
June Celebration: Fatherโs Day, of course! I like to mouth-deliver my cards. Certain people have come to expect it (and I never disappoint.)
Top prize for June: my sleepover at Super Sitter Benitaโs! It was a short stay, but you wouldnโt believe how many great things she planned for me – training, puzzles, toys, plus field trips to the bank, library, produce store & little plaza with picnic tables. Plus, earlier in the month, Benita & I practiced โShadow Walkingโ in the park with my Raiser. Iโm so lucky! Benita is a bona fide PADS Puppy Whisperer.
Fun excursion this month? Cohort Instructor Chelsea took us to the Aquarium again! It was super packed, so I count it as a solid practice session. Question: Why do Sea Lions get luscious treats for barking and we donโt? No justice, no peace. Anyway, coming & going through Stanley Park was the leisurely part. I listened to a musician along the path, met Smith & Wesson the Clydesdales and sniffed some excellent goose poo. Perfect outing, Iโd say!
Also, this month, I had my Ophthalmology Check-Up on Campus with all my PADS friends. Even though Iโve been happily practicing eye exams (with little bottles & everything) since baby puppy days, it was still a bit startling when combined with all the new hands & faces. But thatโs only half of it. An unexpected thing happened right smack after my exam. There he was (swoon) – my โBig Brotherโ PADS Triton! Iโd certainly heard about him, but Iโd never met him in person. Kinda knocked my socks off and I barked despite myself. Really, I was just trying to say thanks for all the cool toys he passed down to me. I have a feeling he understands.
So, phew! How do you top that? Well, one thing for sure about PADS Life: thereโs always something spectacular around the next corner. Thank you so much for checking up on me. Have a great summer! And remember to make the most of the longer light in the sky.
