Hi, Everyone!

This month, my world really opened up and it was all about friendship!

For starters, Lady Caroline (Advanced Sitter & My Magnificent Sponsor) drove an hour through the Atmospheric River – bearing gifts & cuddles galore – just to welcome me into Raising! Lady lights up PADS Village in so many ways! I knew right away she was family. So, I showed her how polite I can be when people chat and eat soup. Then, I snuggled into her lap and fell asleep. Best Friends Forever!

Also, I met Westside Super Sitter Benita and we’ve had several short visits together. She’s been giving me a sneak preview of what Puppy-Sits are all about by letting me rehearse my manners and skills with her. Well, BEST PLAY DATES EVER! Benita has a tall wall called a mirror with a puppy living inside, who is my twin, but won’t come out to play. Spoilsport. But, that’s okay because Benita also has FOOD PUZZLES that she shares with me! Now, that’s friendship!

Plus, I met my neighbour Tessa the Spaniel, who lives with Favourite Person Susan. They’re special friends of my “Big Brother” PADS Triton, who’s off at University, now. Tessa and I sniffed each other a bit, she scolded me once for being a tad too forward, then we quickly smoothed things over and settled together on a mat. Tessa’s super sweet, so, I don’t think she’ll hold my puppiness against me.

Then, to celebrate Halloween, our Instructor Chelsea brought a spidery backdrop and witch’s hat to Class so we could get our BOO on and practice ignoring curious objects at the same time. See, she knows how to make the tough stuff funny and fun – and that’s what friends are for.

I was a good friend, too, this month and accompanied my Raisers to the vaccine clinic (where I was patient and brave on their behalf.) But, in case you think it’s just party central all the time over here, I’ve also been practicing all my PADS things and getting my homework videos in on time. Plus, I’ve been out & about, seeing if I can use my manners amid the hustle & bustle. Made my first trip to Tsawwassen Mills Mall the other day – jeepers, curious objects everywhere (but I’m getting the hang of that ruse!)

Thank you so much for checking in on me! Soon, I’ll be getting my last puppy vaccines, which means I can finally go down to Southlands Heritage Farm with Susan and visit the Barn and the Stables, sniff the aromas, meet the animals… I’ll tell you all about it next time. Until then, be patient and brave on a friend’s behalf!
