December was an enriching month filled with new experiences and opportunities for growth. I spent time in a variety of environments with different PADS dogs, including the mall and off-leash park, which allowed valuable exposure and learning. I participated in a holiday photo with Santa and enjoyed festive touches such as a Christmas bandana. A highlight was visiting the Burnaby Village Museum during the Christmas season, where I experienced lights, music, a carousel, and a train alongside three PADS dogs new to me.
I also attended a PADS dog Christmas party, with dogs of many ages, offering an opportunity for socialization and connection. Throughout the month, I visited a restaurant, went to a coffee shop, and provided support to a teenager, all of which reinforced the importance of calm presence in everyday settings. Reconnecting with my puppy sitters, Jo and Jeff, was especially meaningful, and celebrating my first Christmas – with plenty of new chew toys – was a joyful way to end the month.
